With the 18th choice in the June draft, the Miami Heat may have made the steal of the year when they grabbed Jaime Jaquez Jr., and they should have the opportunity to select another impact player this summer.
Despite the fact that the Heat advanced to the NBA Finals the previous season, their position as the eighth seed in the playoffs meant they would select in the teens rather than at the conclusion of the selection.
Once again, the 37-31 Heat are expected to be selected around the midst of the first round. Even while I understand that’s adding gloss to an otherwise poor regular season, it’s still something.

Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer predicts that Indiana big man Kel’el Ware, whom he likens to Myles Turner, will be picked by the Heat.
O’Connor wrote the following regarding Ware:
“Ware is a dynamic big man who has made over 40% of his 3-pointers this year. But there were doubts about his work ethic and motor throughout high school and his freshman year at Oregon. He worked far harder and performed better with Indiana, even though the Hoosiers were eliminated from the tournament. The best-case scenario would be to sign with a team like the Heat to continue his upward trajectory.
