New Report: Blazers Expected To complete $34.9m Jrue Holiday Trade Before Media Day…..

The Portland Trail Blazers are expected to trade Jrue Holiday before media day, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. The Blazers acquired Holiday from the Milwaukee Bucks in the blockbuster Damian Lillard. Portland will not keep Holiday since the franchise is in rebuild mode.

The Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers are teams that appeal to Holiday, according to NBA insiders Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.

Holiday played in 67 games for the Bucks in 2022-23. He averaged 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 47.9% from the floor, 38.4% from 3 and 85.9% from the free-throw line. The NBA champion signed a four-year, $135 million extension with Milwaukee in April 2021.

A California native, Holiday has career NBA averages of 16.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists with the Sixers, New Orleans Pelicans and Bucks. He has made five All-Defensive teams and two All-Star teams.

Holiday will make $34.9 million next season. He has a player option worth $37.4 million for the 2024-25 campaign. The Bucks did not consult Giannis Antetokounmpo before acquiring Lillard from the Blazers due to Antetokounmpo’s close relationship with Holiday, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
