Through a statement on their official website, Greek Super League new boys Kifissia announced the capture of Villarreal-reared Nigerian defensive midfielder Jack Ipalibo on Thursday.
Ipalibo played for Diamond Academy, an Umuahia-based grassroots club that produced Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze, before transferring to Villarreal to join their youth team in 2016.
He was on the books of Villarreal for four years before moving to Strømsgondset in Norway, first on loan before sealing a permanent transfer in 2020.
In 92 all-competition appearances for Strømsgondset, he directly participated in thirteen goals (8 goals, 5 assists).
Ipalibo has joined his new teammates in the Netherlands, where Kifissia are undergoing pre-season preparations ahead of their maiden participation in the Stoiximan Super League
The 25-year-old did not make his unofficial debut for his new employers in Friday’s 1-1 draw with Utrecht.
Kifissia will play two more friendlies with a Belgian second-tier club (July 31) and Go Ahead Eagles (August 4), before returning to Greece on August 5.All rights reserved.
