Nottingham Forest will make the trip to north London to face Arsenal in their Premier League opening game on Saturday (12:30pm).
The Reds have two injury doubts in Moussa Niakhate and Taiwo Awoniyi. Niakhate has a dislocated elbow and the striker Awoniyi has an ankle issue.
Felipe meanwhile, is set to miss out. “Felipe, for sure (won’t play),” Steve Cooper said in his press-conference before adding: “Moussa is just about returning to training, and so is Taiwo, so the game probably comes too soon for them.”
Elsewhere, Brennan Johnson is expected to return to the squad after picking up an ankle injury on international duty. “Brennan has been back a couple of weeks, he’s fit,” Cooper added.
He came back to pre-season with an injury that he picked up in the international games at the end of our season, so that was unfortunate. But we had the summer to deal with that, and then the most part of pre-season.
“He has committed really well – as he does with everything – to his rehab. He was back on the training pitch as soon as he could. It was great to get him involved last week. This is his second full week back in training, and we gave him some minutes last week. For sure, he’s in the mix for the weekend.
