Nottingham Forest are reported to have asked for the “final conditions” to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner as a possible alternative to Dean Henderson.
The Reds are trying to sign a new shot-stopper this summer as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping department. Wayne Hennessey is currently Forest’s only senior keeper, although they do still have Ethan Horvath on their books but
Forest have been in talks to secure a permanent transfer for Manchester United’s Henderson who impressed during his loan spell at the City Ground last season.
But stumbling blocks are said to have emerged with the Reds’ initial proposal to loan the shot-stopper and then sign him on a permanent deal when he played a certain number of games, rejected
And now transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that USA international Turner is an alternative, claiming that Forest “will sign only one goalkeeper this summer,” between Henderson and Turner.
However, The Athletic report that Forest are planning “two goalkeeping additions” this summer with there also said to be “distance between the clubs’ valuations” for the American.
Steve Cooper’s side may have received a boost in their claimed interest in signing Turner. It has been widely reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Brentford’s David Raya which would likely see Turner fall down the pecking order at the Emirates.
