Leeds United want Leicester City defender Luke Thomas and have made two approaches for him as they look to strengthen their defensive options after Sam Byram sustained an injury during Saturday’s 4-3 victory over Ipswich Town, reports The Athletic journalist Phil Hay.
However, the Elland Road outfit are not the only club keen on the 22-year-old left-back, with Manchester United also interested, according to the Daily Mail.
Leeds could find it hard to pip the Red Devils to Thomas as Leicester will find it hesitant to strengthen one of their promotion rivals, which could Man United advantage in the race.
The Old Trafford club want a new left-back after Luke Shaw sustained a muscle injury which could keep him out for many months, and the England under-21 international has attracted them,
A return to the Premier League could be more appealing to Thomas, and he is expected to leave Leicester as he is yet to make an appearance this term and is not in the plans of manager Enzo Maresca.
