Liverpool are reported favourites to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, with the youngster expected to leave next week.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, the Reds are leading the charge to sign the Dutch international, with the £43m-rated talent being chased by Liverpool all summer.
Gravenberch has been on Jurgen Klopp’s radar for what feels like forever, and next week with the transfer window shutting should see some definitive movement.
Indeed, Liverpool have been in talks with Bayern over Gravenberch, though a breakthrough is yet to be made for the midfielder, who is believed to be keen on a move to Anfield.
Despite this, Liverpool remain favourites, with Galetti saying: “The decisive week for the future of Ryan Gravenberch is about to begin. Liverpool are still on his tracks and contact has already started with Bayern Munich.
“But there is so much more to do to arrive at the finish line. Anyway, the Reds have other names on the midfielder list as, for example, Khephren Thuram. But they remain the favourites in the race for the Dutch player.”
Liverpool’s pursuit for Gravenberch started earlier this year and could now come to a dramatic climax next week, with deadline day likely to be the date a deal takes place.
The Reds have struggled to reach an agreement for Gravenberch, yet with the player open to a move and Liverpool keen to sign the midfielder, Bayern’s resolve will soon have to break.
With Liverpool now favourites for Gravenberch, this saga could be concluded next week, and the Reds could end up with a fourth and final midfielder on their books this summer.
