NEWS NOW: Luton Town now in advanced talks to sign a magnificent £20m

Wolverhampton Wanderers are now in advanced talks to sell left wing back Ryan Giles to Premier League new boys Luton Town.

We have seen a number of players leave Wolves this summer as a new era begins at Molineux.

Ruben Neves, Diego Costa, Joao Moutinho, Adama Traore, Conor Coady and Nathan Collins are among those to move on this summer.

Signing will be key too but more could end up leaving yet with left wing back Giles a wanted man.

Sky Sports report that Luton Town are now in ’advanced talks’ with Wolves over a deal to sign Giles.

It’s claimed that Luton are targeting a £20million deal for Giles and appear to be moving closer to an agreement.

Luton often play with wing backs and having signed Issa Kabore for their right side, Giles is now wanted on the left.

That seems like a perfect role for the attack-minded Giles and he fits the mould Luton seem to be going for – players who could step up in the Premier League but would certainly be top Championship players if the Hatters go down.

Chiedozie Ogbene, Mads Andersen and Tahith Chong fit that bill and Giles could now join them at Kenilworth Road.

It’s time for Ryan Giles to leave Wolves permanently

Hailing from Telford, Giles has been in the Wolves ranks since the age of just eight.

Long considered to be an exciting talent, the left wing back just hasn’t been given his breakthrough at Wolves.

In fact, the 23-year-old has played just once in the Wolves first team, and that came up in an FA Cup tie back in January 2019.

Giles has become a real loan ranger, leaving Wolves on loan eight times now.

From joining AFC Telford to two spells at Coventry City and a most recent spell at Middlesbrough, Giles has gained plenty of experience out on loan.

After all of that, Giles still doesn’t seem to be in the first-team plans at Wolves and he simply must move on in order to settle down elsewhere.

A Luton move seems perfect for Giles, allowing him to test himself in the Premier League and add to the Wolves transfer kitty.

It’s a shame that Giles never really broke through at Wolves but fans would surely love to see him shine elsewhere – even if it’s with a Premier League rival.
