Daniel Farke has confirmed Liam Cooper, Daniel James and Sam Byram will all travel to Millwall this weekend. The international break has allowed Leeds United’s busy treatment table to clear up after picking up several knocks early in the campaign.
Five first-team players were sidelined but the German delivered some positive news ahead of the international break. Club captain Cooper, out of action since the opening-day draw with Cardiff City, is back while James and Byram, both absent in recent weeks, are available for selection.
Farke also revealed that new arrivals Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara have trained following the international break, although Djed Spence is a doubt. “Liam Cooper is back in first-team training since yesterday,” he said.
“Also, Sam Byram has trained the whole week. Daniel James has trained the whole week. Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara have trained since Wednesday, after their international duties. Overall, (I have) quite a big group and we’ve had some good training sessions these last few days. It’s definitely good news for us.
However, the 46-year-old told reporters that Djed Spence is a major doubt for the Millwall clash, while Patrick Bamford, Junior Firpo and Stuart Dallas are no closer to returning. The latter has not featured since sustaining a femoral fracture in May last year.
