His release clause is set at £39M and with Liverpool hesitating or stalling on making their move to activate it, Arsenal and co. have the chance to beat them to the punch. Of course, it might be a case of timing for the Reds and with their accelerated interest in Dominik Szboboszlai coming out of the blue, Veiga may no longer be a priority.
Veiga is a fluid and instinctive player and whichever team succeeds in signing him will gain a player that excels in knitting play together. Whether it’s a dribble, a pass or a feint, the Spaniard is sublime in close quarters and should he arrive in the Premier League as seems likely, he’s going to cause a lot of problems for English defences.
Last season, he scored 11 goals and assisted 4, according to Transfermarkt. His combination of bursts of pace and tight control makes him very difficult to dispossess.
