Sky Sports have provided an update on the current ongoing situation between Southampton and Newcastle United and the talks surrounding Tino Livramento.
There have been conflicting reports today about the state of play with the possible Tino Livramento deal as Eddie Howe‘s Newcastle make their play for the England youth star.
Reports claiming Newcastle had agreed a £30million deal with Southampton for Livramento seem to have been premature with TalkSPORT‘s Alex Crook declaring this morning that no agreement had been reached as yet.
Sky Sports have claimed the two clubs are far apart on their valuation of Livramento
Now Mark McAdam has said on Sky Sports that he believes there is a ‘significant gap’ in the clubs’ valuation of Livramento but talks are still ongoing.
McAdam said on Sky Sports News: “Newcastle’s latest bid, which we believe is their second bid, in the region of £30million for the young 20-year-old was rejected by Southampton. They value him at closer to £40m, so there is a significant gap there between what Newcastle are willing to pay, up against FFP, and what Southampton are willing to sell him for.
Had Livramento played a more active role in Southampton’s season Newcastle may be more inclined to meet Southampton’s demands, but having only played two games after a lengthy injury lay-off, it’s too risky to go too high.
As Mark McAdam said, it’s going to be interesting to see how this one develops.
