NEWS NOW:Striker keen on Leeds United move but Whites could be forced to pay hefty fee

Leeds United have recently been linked with a move for Norwich City striker Josh Sargent, and Football Insider claim that the American is keen on making the move to Elland Road.

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke originally brought Sargent, 23, to England in 2021. He signed the former Werder Bremen striker for Norwich City and after a tough maiden season in England, Sargent found his scoring touch in the Championship last time round

He netted 13 times in the league and he’s since scored once in the Championship this season. But it looks like he could potentially leave Carrow Road in the coming weeks, with Leeds United linked with a potential swoop.

Football Insider broke the initial link, and the same outlet are now saying that Sargent is ‘keen to complete a reunion’ with Farke at Elland Road, but that the Canaries are reluctant to lose the player, and that the club would command a hefty fee for the 23-cap USMNT striker.

A move to Leeds United, and a reunion with Farke, looks like an attractive proposition for Sargent; despite Leeds’ poor start to the season.

The club remains a huge one in the Championship and soon enough, they should start to climb back up the table.

But Farke needs to oversee a good end to the transfer window and a new striker looks like a priority, given Patrick Bamford’s injury.

Sargent has definitely made improvements since being in England and playing in a fast-paced Leeds side, with creative players behind him, could really bring the best out of the USA international.

Though whether or not Leeds have the resources to make the move happens remains to be seen, with another Norwich player on Leeds’ radar in Kenny McLean as well.
