Bayern remain unbeaten in all competitions this campaign since the season-opening Supercup loss to RB Leipzig. That record almost came undone against Leipzig again at the weekend. However, Thomas Tuchel’s men showed plenty of resilience to recover from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 thanks to goals from Kane and Leroy Sané. Both players were also on the scoresheet in the Bavarians’ opening Champions League game of the term, a 4-3 victory over Manchester United, and they will be eager to be decisive once more. While Thomas Müller will also be available, Serge Gnabry continues to recover from the forearm fracture he suffered against Preußen Münster in the DFB Cup, and Matthijs de Ligt’s knee issue has kept him back in Munich. This fixture also comes too soon for Manuel Neuer, who is now at least back in training following his leg break. A win here against the Danish champions will put Bayern in full control of Group A and, although sporting director Christoph Freund believes it will be be “a completely different game” to the United clash, the reigning Bundesliga champions will be confident of picking up the victory.

For their part, Copenhagen come into this clash on top of the Danish Superliga, although they were beaten 2-0 at home by Midtjylland on Saturday. They kicked off their European campaign with a 2-2 draw at Galatasaray, however, the Danes were left kicking themselves after they led that encounter 2-0 with just five minutes left on the clock. That result means Copenhagen are still without a win in the continent’s premier club competition since 2016, a run Bayern will be eager to extend in the first-ever meeting between the sides. Coach Jacob Neestrup will not be helped by the absence of several players such as Nicolai Boilesen and Elias Jelert, who picked up a red card against Galatasaray.
