News Report: Brendan Rodgers offers Philippe Clement advice as Celtic boss sends Rangers rival expectation message

Brendan Rodgers has sent new Rangers boss Philippe Clement a reminder about the ‘stress’ involved with managing one of the Old Firm.

The Celtic manager is well accustomed to the rigours of doing just that having already led the club between 2016 and 2019. He’s now back in the Parkhead hotseat and just a few months into the gig, he’s already seen one Rangers manager sacked in the form of Michael Beale, who left Ibrox trailing the Hoops by seven points in the Premiership table.

Clement was named as his successor and will do everything in his power to close that gap, as he kicks off his Govan managerial journey tomorrow against Hibs. Celtic also return to the pitch after the international break on Sunday when they play away to Hearts but in the meantime, Rodgers was quizzed by Sky Sports about Clement’s appointment and what advice he can offer to the Belgian.

The Northern Irishman said: “Philippe has obviously gone in there and will understand very quickly the expectation, stress and pressure that comes with managing Celtic or Rangers.
