Rangers do not have an option to buy Abdallah Sima permanently from Brighton in their loan agreement, according to The Scottish Sun.
Writing on their official website (24 October), the news outlet report that there was no agreement for a permanent transfer that saw the Senegal international move to Ibrox on loan in the summer.
His current contract is due to expire in 2025 on the south coast and according to the report it’s unclear if they would be willing to sell, with Rangers clearly impressed by his form with nine goals in 16 games this season.

“The 22-year-old Senegal international moved to Ibrox from Brighton in the summer on a season-long loan deal.
“But it’s understood a purchase clause wasn’t included in the agreement with the Seagulls.
After loan stints at Stoke and Angers, it’s unclear if Brighton would be willing to sell.”
We saw last season with Malik Tillan that having a buy-option in a loan deal is simply smart, and while it didn’t work out too well for us on that occasion this was certainly a great alternative.
A deal for Tillman got triggered only for Bayern Munich to veto it and give us some money as compensation, but we don’t have that luxury of a pre-agreed fee for Sima and Brighton could well either hold onto him or ask for a ridiculousfee.
That would leave us short again next season, but that’s a problem that we need to deal with once it becomes apparent what is happening there.
For now Sima is shining at Ibrox after a difficult start and has made himself undroppable, with Philippe Clement clearly finding a spot for him in his system.
Hopefully we can open talks with Brighton early about a permanent move if that is what the manager wants, but it’s still only October and anything could happen between now and then. So lets be patient and just enjoy his good form for now.
