NEWS REPORT: ‘Brilliant’ PL player now ‘highly unlikely’ to join Leeds this summer

Manchester United attacker Amad Diallo is now ‘highly unlikely’ to join Leeds United this summer.

That is according to the Chronicle’s printed edition on Saturday 5 August (page 32), who report Diallo’s knee injury picked up in pre-season is set to put an end to any team’s hopes of signing him before the end of the window.

Diallo had been attracting interest from Leeds, Leicester City, Southampton and a handful of Premier League clubs following an ‘amazing’ loan spell at Sunderland last season.

However, Erik ten Hag was keen to take a look at Diallo in pre-season for Manchester United and even started against Leeds in Oslo last month.

But unfortunately for Diallo, and those interested in signing him, Diallo picked up a knee injury against Arsenal on their tour of USA and will now miss the first part of the season.

Diallo would’ve made an excellent addition at number 10 this summer, but if Leeds were indeed interested, they will now have to turn their attention elsewhere.

One positive of this from a Leeds perspective is that none of their Championship rivals will be able to sign him either, as he really is a difference maker at this level.

It will be interesting to see who Leeds now target at number 10, particularly given Daniel Farke has spoken about how important it is to add some creativity in midfield.
