The Charlotte Hornets put a bow on training camp Friday afternoon, concluding a four-day stretch of physical play. Head coach Steve Clifford had a different approach to camp this year doing things the “Van Gundy way” by running a lot of scrimmages to let the guys play, gain chemistry, and get in game shape. Clifford says the team will take tomorrow off before hosting Purple & Teal Day for the fans on Sunday, October 7th, at 1 p.m. EST. That will be the team’s last practice in Charlotte before heading to South Beach to open up preseason play against the Miami Heat.
At the end of today’s media availability, Clifford revealed that the starting five in that preseason opener will likely be LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, P.J. Washington, and Mark Williams.
