Your Los Angeles Chargers dropped a game that they very much needed on Monday evening against the Dallas Cowboys. There were multiple reasons why Dallas ended up winning the game 20-17, but in the end, it was the defense that sealed the deal for the Cowboys. The Dallas defense was able to come up with big plays when they needed them most, while the Bolts didn’t. The defense isn’t to blame for the Chargers loss, but Dallas just outplayed them, especially on the last series where quarterback Justin Herbert threw his interception to lose the game. “Their defense was able to force turnovers — a game-sealing interception and a turnover on downs – when Dallas desperately needed them, and the offense made just enough plays to avoid a deflating defeat.” Per Garrett Podell & Jared Dubin of CBSSports.com In addition, the Cowboys offense made the big play. They needed a jolt from their guys in this one and got it. It was heartbreaking for the Chargers, but the Dallas offensive weapons ripped their hearts out when they least expected it. “Running back Tony Pollard turning a broken play on third-and-11 into a 60-yard gain changed the game, and wide receiver Brandin Cooks coming up clutch in the red zone with his first touchdown of the year gave the offense the CPR-like jolt it desperately needed.” Per Garrett Podell & Jared Dubin of CBSSports.com The Chargers can’t focus on the “what ifs’ within this game, and they need to look ahead to their next game. All they can do is learn from this game against Dallas and make sure that it doesn’t happen again.
With the Kansas City Chiefs on deck for them, they don’t have time to dwell. It’s already a short week for them after the Monday night game, so the Bolts will need to bring their A-game when they go into Arrowhead this weekend, otherwise, they will see themselves fall to a 2-4 record on the season.
