A significant prospective transfer is still yet to be made and the highly anticipated NBA season is just over a month away.
Meanwhile, Damian Lillard is still with the Portland Trail Blazers despite having requested to be traded earlier.
The point guard would rather play with the Miami Heat, but negotiations between Miami and Portland have stalled and they have not yet been solidified.
According to ESPN, the Miami Heat are Lillard”s primary trade place.
However, Portland not being happy with the deal since Miami doesn”t want to make any more concessions than are absolutely necessary.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN mentions, “They want Damian Lillard, they just want him for as little as they’re going to have to give up and they’re essentially daring Portland to go out into the marketplace, which Portland is doing, and see if they could find better,”
Other teams such as the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Toronto Raptors have also been there in order to optimize the deal and acquire the star player.
If a different team makes a compelling offer, the Lillard trade scenario might entirely change. A competitive bidding war would start and the Heat would swiftly have to make a counteroffer.
However, Portland hasn”t yet found a team willing to spend more for the seasoned guard than Miami.
