News Report: Danilo sets Rangers return timeline after facial surgery as Hampden firmly in striker’s sights….

Danilo has told Rangers fans he hopes to be back within three weeks on the pitch.

And that would put the Brazilian striker firmly in with a chance of featuring for the Light Blues in the crucial Viaplay Cup semi-final against Hearts on November 5 under what fans would expect to be a new manager in the dugout. Danilo suffered a sore one in Perth when his goal in a 2-0 win over St Johnstone last month came at the cost of a gruesome compound fracture which required the 24-year-old to have surgery.

Now the former Feyenoord man, who was live on Twitch with fellow injured Rangers star Todd Cantwell, told excited supporters in the comments section that he aims to be back in the next three weeks. He commented on the feed: “The doctors saying three weeks but lets see, hope more soon,” before adding: “Talking with them everyday if I can join earlier, so hopefully not three weeks but earlier.

Meanwhile former Norwich City midfielder Cantwell remains sidelined for the Light Blues, he took to TNT’s punditry line up before the win over Real Betis to say he was “coming along” with his knock. He initially posted on social media that the injury was not as straight forward as it seemed.

Both will return to the fold with a new man at the helm after Michael Beale’s dismissal. Club chiefs are in London to try and nail down who they want to take them forward.
