One NBA writer is proposing that the Utah Jazz trade for Miami Heat shooting guard Tyler Herro in a blockbuster proposal. Lee Tran of Fadeaway World proposed the following trade idea between the Jazz and Heat

The Jazz’s valuation of Herro was a key talking point around last year’s Summer League since Utah and Miami talked about a Donovan Mitchell trade. Mitchell wound up getting traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Herro has removed “Miami Heat guard” from his “X” bio. The Kentucky product averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists last season while shooting 43.9% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 93.4% from the free-throw line. He was third on the team in points per game, trailing only Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

The 23-year-old Herro signed a four-year, $120 million rookie contract extension with the Heat in October 2022. The Milwaukee native has career NBA averages of 17.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 242 games with Miami. Herro broke his hand in the first round of the 2023 playoffs versus the Milwaukee Bucks and never came back.

The Jazz went 37-45 last season. They missed the playoffs after trading Mitchell to the Cavaliers and Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2022.

Utah’s core is currently made up of Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson, Walker Kessler and Ochai Agbaji. If the Jazz trade Markkanen to the Heat, Herro would become the No. 1 option on offense in Utah.
