Nottingham Forest believe Danilo could be the next player to leave the club for a huge transfer fee. The Reds signed the midfielder for £16 million in the January transfer window of 2023.
According to The Athletic, the youngster could already be worth double what the club paid for him less than a year after his arrival at the City Ground.
Danilo hasn’t been able to play since going off in the first half of a 1-0 win over Chelsea. He has hurt his hamstring and it remains to be seen when he can be back on the pitch.
Forest think Danilo could be worth a fortune
The Brazilian lit up the City Ground on several occasions during the second half of last season. He scored some crucial goals as Forest secured their Premier League survival.
At 22-years-old, Danilo is still honing his skills at Forest. After missing out with his hamstring problem he will hope to get his place back in the team once he returns to fitness.
Danilo was added to the ranks from Palmeiras. He cost the club just £16 million and had been linked with other Premier League clubs before he moved to Forest.
Danilo can get even better
There is still so much untapped potential with Danilo that it really is scary. Steve Cooper has previously called him ‘exciting’ and there might not be a better manager for him right now
Firstly, Danilo needs to get himself fit. Once he does that he will have a fight on his hands to win a place back in the Forest team; with a number of midfield options now available.
Danilo is confident, however, and he will fancy his chances of getting back in the team. Forest won’t have any desire to sell him in the short-term but they do believe he will make them a fortune when the time does come for him to leave.
