Phil Hay shared a “funny” reaction from a Norwich City fan at full time of the “fantastic” Leeds United win at Carrow Road.
The Athletic journalist reported on Twitter from the ground as a fan was “screaming” at the LUTV commentators to “shut up as they lap it up”, after the Whites came from two down to win 3-2 on Daniel Farke’s return to his former club.
Crysencio Summerville’s wonderful double added to a Shane Duffy own goal to bring the visitors all the way back and take three points.
Hay wrote: “Fantastic result. Angry Norwich fan in front of us screaming at LUTV commentators to shut up as they lap it up.
“Own goal changed everything, Farke’s switches worked superbly, quality finishing from Summerville and three huge points. That puts Leeds in third.
Just as the result should be hugely encouraging for Farke and his side it will have been a sickener for the Canaries who had put themselves in position to win.
Leeds United looked below their best as they allowed too many chances to the home side and went two behind as a result.
But the Whites showed a fight that was so often absent in times of adversity in the Premier League over the past two seasons, and Dan James forced Duffy to hand one back in the second 45.
Georginio Rutter was dynamic but he couldn’t match the star of the show in Summerville who curled a beauty off the far post to level the scores before breaking away to slot home the winner.
Not every gameplan can be perfect from the off so arguably the response to going two down, from both the manager and the players, will be more rewarding than a comfortable 3-0 win.
Leeds continue to climb the table and increase hopes of promotion, as the plan seems to be coming together at Elland Road.
