News Report: Rangers January pursuit must be on the cards for SPFL Star after what Clement did recently….

Rangers should look to bring in Hearts attacker Lawrence Shankland to bolster their ranks in the final third in the January window.

Philippe Clement took a moment to praise him without even being asked directly about the 28-year-old Scotland international.

Shankland has come on Clement’s radar in the past too when he played at Belgian side Beerschot.

TalkSPORT host David Tanner also hinted to something in January about it on Twitter.

He wrote, “Interesting to hear Philippe Clement talking about Hearts having a few interesting players.

“The Rangers manager volunteered an admiration for Lawrence Shankland, saying he’s been aware of him since the Hearts striker played in Belgium at Beerschot.

The 28-year-old has proven that he can do well in the SPFL and he can offer something unique to this Gers attack.

Having watched him previously and set to do so again in the Scottish top flight, Clement may already line up a move for him.

It’s fair for him to not be impressed with the summer recruitment as a lot of those signings were underwhelming and very few have lived up to expectations so far.

Shankland is not just a striker as he’s capable of playing as a number 10 and also on the right wing so he can offer that fluidity in the final third.

Looking at the teams Clement’s setup thus far, it seems like that’s what he prioritises in players and if the Hearts attacker can bring that to the table, it remains to be seen if it can happen or not.
