NEWS UPDATE: 2024 NBA draft rankings, Jonathan Givony’s top 25 prospects

Monday is the first day of the 2023–24 college basketball season, kicking off increased visibility for the 2024 NBA draft cycle.
There will undoubtedly be a lot of movement at the top of draft boards until June, unlike the 2023 NBA draft, which was characterized by tension over the San Antonio Spurs’ selection as the first overall pick rather than Victor Wembanyama’s ascension as the obvious favorite.

Due to his strong preseason debut, G League Ignite forward Ron Holland is currently ranked first. Holland is closely followed by Alex Sarr, a big man from Perth who has been steadily climbing the NBA draft boards in recent months thanks to his performance for the Australian team. Additionally, keep an eye on guard Isaiah Collier, a freshman at USC, as the Trojans’ season gets underway this week.

Below are ESPN NBA draft insider Jonathan Givony’s top 25 NBA prospects.

We are still months away from the 2024 NBA draft on June 27, so these rankings will change—likely dramatically—as we learn quite a bit more about these prospects and others who weren’t under consideration previously.

Check back all season as we inform you of the risers and fallers of this unpredictable draft class.

1. Ron Holland | SF | G League Ignite

6-foot-8 | Age: 18.3 | Previously ranked: 1

With his preseason efforts against Perth and in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, where he averaged 20 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.4 steals in 26 minutes across five games, Holland did little to detract from his ranking at the top. He is a fierce, aggressive two-way player who uses his excellent basketball instincts to wreck havoc while pushing the ball fiercely in the open court. Holland’s perimeter shooting (35% from 3 and 85% from the free throw line) has improved early on, indicating a genuine trust in his ability to make shots, which is encouraging for his progress in this area. That’s a crucial component of his game because he lacks exceptional physical attributes and occasionally exhibits wild moments when it comes to creating shots and making decisions. He should have the courage to test the limits of his skill set and prove that, contrary to what some NBA scouts believe, he is more than just a great role player after participating in G League Ignite. Teams want to see Holland control his emotions and be more composed when in possession of the ball, despite the fact that they adore his tenacity and energy.

2. Alex Sarr | PF/C | Perth

7-1 | Age: 18.5 | Previously ranked: 4

With his two-game September performance versus G League Ignite—43 points, 18 rebounds, 12 blocks, and 4 assists in Las Vegas—Sarr shot up the NBA draft rankings. Sarr has a rare blend of length, skill, movement, and defensive adaptability among 7-footers. Since then, he has had more ups and downs in the NBL, which is to be expected given the sharp increase in the caliber of competition and the fact that his team is only 3–5 on the season. Despite this, Sarr shows remarkable flashes of skill in every domain with his excellent footwork, inventive finishing, ground coverage, and rim protection. As the season progresses, he should remain a top-three pick if he plays defense with intensity.
