Raul Jimenez has admitted it was very difficult to leave Wolves in the summer.
The Mexican was one of several big names to depart Molineux, and his exit was ultimately rather inevitable.
Jimenez struggled for minutes towards the end of last season under Julen Lopetegui.
The former head coach overlooked Jimenez for a number of matchday squads towards the end of 2023/24.
And Lopetegui really angered some Wolves fans when he did not give Jimenez any minutes in the club’s final home game of the season against Everton, amid speculation the striker was going to leave.
Jimenez did end up leaving, joining Fulham for around £5 million.

Raul Jimenez says Wolves exit was difficult
Jimenez has given an interview with Sky Sports about leaving Wolves in the summer.
It is clear from the way he is speaking that Jimenez genuinely did find leaving really hard.
He spent a long part of his career at Molineux and has genuine love for the club.
He said: “It was difficult for me to leave Wolverhampton after five years. I had really good moments and some not very good moments as well.
“But we really enjoyed (it). Me as a footballer, my family. We were really good, our life there was really good. We really miss them. But also, we are good here. We’ve been doing great here, we’re settled now.”
Jimenez exit was a shame, but perhaps for the best
It was sad to see Jimenez leave Wolves in the summer.
In his prime he was truly an outstanding striker.
The head injury he suffered undoubtedly completely changed his career, and sadly he has never really been able to hit the heights he did before it.
Perhaps the time was right for Jimenez to leave when he did.
It would have been very interesting though, if Gary O’Neil had been at the club sooner. Perhaps he might have fought for Jimenez to stay.
