NEWS UPDATE: Birmingham City SET £294m Bid in singing new coach in replacement of their former coach

Birmingham City’s newest investor Tom Brady is due to begin analysing American football matches for Fox Sports next year in a deal worth a mind-blowing $375 million (£294m).

Brady signed the 10-year contract with Fox in 2022, shortly before he retired after a 22-year career which saw him win seven Super Bowls. The 46-year-old has taken a year out from NFL after retirement and is due to begin calling games for Fox next year.

The deal is estimated to be worth more than Brady’s earnings from his NFL playing career. According to a report by the New York Post, Brady pocketed $333m during his days with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

People are questioning why Brady has pitched up in Birmingham and joined Blues as chairman of their newly-formed advisory board. Blues owner Tom Wagner – who has known Brady personally for a number of years – refutes claims that Brady’s involvement is a publicity stunt.

It’s not a publicity stunt,” Wagner insists. “Tom is actively engaged in the sporting side of the team. He is going to play a meaningful role. The fans of other Championship teams probably wish it was a publicity stunt. Unfortunately for them it is much more than that.

“I think others will adopt a lot of what Tom has done. He is proven to be successful in American football and I think this is a great platform for Tom to get his message out, which is something I believe very, very deeply in.”

When Blues announced Brady’s investment, it was suggested that he will advise club staff on ‘health, nutrition, wellness, and recovery systems and programs’. Brady played at the pinnacle of his sport until the age of 45.
