The latest Leicester City news as the Championship season kicks off this weekend with City starting their season with a derby.
Coventry City manager Mark Robins has provided the latest team news for his side ahead of the Championship opener against Leicester City on Sunday, with new signing Haji Wright available for the game.
City host the Sky Blues in the early kick off as they start their return to the Championship with the ‘M69 derby’. Both teams suffered difficult ends to the season, with City suffering relegation on the final day, while Coventry lost the play-off final via a penalty shootout.
While City are without defenders Conor Coady and Victor Kristiansen for the match, Coventry don’t have too many injury worries of their own.
Goalkeeper Ben Wilson is the only doubt for the game, with summer signing Brad Collins in line to replace him. Robins gave the latest on the goalkeeper’s back issue.
“He joined in training the other day, so he sort of dipped his toes in and he will train properly today (Friday),” he said, via Coventry Live .
There was doubts over the involvement of midfielder Gustavo Hamer, given the uncertainty over his future at the club. The 26-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract, with the club rejecting bids for the player this summer, but Robins said that the player is ‘ready to go’ ahead of the match.
