D’Angelo Russell officially declares his decision to leave the Lakers as a swap for Austin Reaves in a box of Christmas lights
Given his terrible play since the conclusion of the In-Season Tournament, D’Angelo Russell might be the player the Lakers look to cut this winter. The Lakers should trade Russell as soon as possible, according to ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins, who is aware of trade rumors involving the team.
The subject is D’Angelo Russell. I would trade him now for a lifetime supply of Christmas lights and a box of candles. That’s how awful his behavior has been.
Though many Laker fans have recently voiced their desire to see Russell fired, Perkins has a tendency to overstate his points when speaking on television. During the last seven games, he has averaged 9.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists while the Lakers have been playing poorly. It appears that frustration in the LA front office will be mounting after they lose their fifth game in the last six.
Russell is an adaptable combo guard that the Lakers can use for both on- and off-ball offensive play. But this season, his offense has drastically declined and his defense has been nonexistent.
