NEWS UPDATE: Daniel Farke makes changes to Leeds United’s starting lineup in a desire to defeat Swansea City.

Leeds United are looking to return to winning ways this evening as they take on Michael Duff’s Swansea City

Daniel Farke has made two changes to his Leeds United starting line-up to take on Swansea City this evening. The Whites will be looking to return to third place in the Championship by getting back to winning ways after being held to a 1-1 draw last time out against Rotherham United.

Sam Byram returns to the starting XI after watching Friday night’s game from the bench. The full-back was struggling with a hamstring injury earlier this month but he’s considered fit enough to start tonight in place of Junior Firpo.

Pascal Struijk also comes into the side, replacing Liam Cooper, who is on the bench despite leaving the field at Rotherham United through injury. The Dutchman captains the side tonight just as he did before he underwent hernia surgery at the start of November.

Djed Spence is named in the squad for the first time since early September after overcoming a frustrating knee injury. He’s only made one appearance in a Leeds shirt so far and he’ll be hoping to kick on and find some momentum for the Whites as the hectic festive season approaches.

The right-back’s return means Luke Ayling drops out of the fold altogether, which suggests he has fallen some way down the pecking order.

Leeds United: Illan Meslier; Archie Gray, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk, Sam Byram; Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara; Crysencio Summerville, Joel Piroe, Dan James; Georginio Rutter.

Bench: Karl Darlow, Liam Cooper, Djed Spence, Ilia Gruev, Junior Firpo, Wilfried Gnonto, Jaidon Anthony, Patrick Bamford, Ian Poveda.
