Nottingham Forest have submitted a bid for Bologna’s Argentinian midfielder Nicolas Dominguez.
According to Cesar Luis Merlo, the Reds and Galatasaray have made offers for the 25-year-old who could leave the Serie A side this summer.
Steve Cooper’s side are still looking for a midfielder despite offering €35 million plus add-ons for Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana.
Bologna are resigned to losing Dominguez this window after he stated his desire to leave the club following offers from AC Milan and Fenerbache.
The former Velez Sarsfield man is said to be available for £15 million this summer.
The Argentinian midfielder came through the ranks at Velez Sarsfield back in his home country, before joining his current side Bologna in 2019, where he’s made 103 appearances in all competitions.
His spell in Italy has seen him feature 11 times for the Argentina national side, over the last four years.
Box-to-box midfielder Dominguez ranks highly for tackles, averaging 3.2 per 90, a tally that puts him in the top 8% of all midfielders in Europe.
His tally of shots per game reflects his box-to-box play. The 25-year-old averages 1.7 shots per game, a tally higher than current Forest man Brennan Johnson.
The Bologna midfielder also likes to create from deep positions, with his tally of 5.9 progressive passes making him an attractive signing for multiple reasons.
The £15 million fee being touted for Dominguez would be a great price for a player of his defensive and attacking capabilities.
He would add depth to the Reds’ midfield, whilst providing a completely new option and play style to the midfield trio.
