Pascal Struijk finally quit Leeds United ahead of January, as transfer price dropped by £2.6 million.
pascal Struijk is “interested” in a move to Club Brugge ahead of the January transfer window, according to Sacha Tavolieri.
The journalist provided an update via the Unibet Belgium YouTube channel (15 November), revealing that Club Brugge, who were interested in a move for Struijk during the summer, maintain that interest in the 24-year-old.
Struijk, who is “interested” in the move, could be available for £13.1million, with Tavolieri revealing that the “price has gone down” for the Belgian, who was valued at £15.7million during the summer.
It remains to be seen whether or not the Jupiler Pro League side will be willing to match that fee during January.
Surprise
Letting Struijk go in the middle of the season might end up coming back to bite those at Elland Road. Struijk was someone who certainly could have departed the club following relegation from the Premier League, but in the end, a move never materialised.
Instead, he has been a mainstay in Daniel Farke’s side this season, starting each of the club’s 15 Championship matches, and with the Whites finding some rhythm and pushing up the Championship table, disrupting the team might be a move they eventually regret.
His contributions could help the Whites get back to the Premier League, which would be worth more than any fee they could get for him in January. While it is understandable he would want to return to the country he was born in and play for a side in Europe, if Farke can convince him to stay put, at least until the end of the season, it could be worthwhile.
