NEWS UPDATE: Phil Hay confirms  Joe Rodon returns to Tottenham Hotspur from Leeds United in January.

Phil Hay confirms  Joe Rodon returns to Tottenham Hotspur from Leeds United in January.

Rodon, 26, has been excellent for Leeds this season. Playing 14 times for the club in the Championship and starting 13 of those, the Wales star has helped keep five clean sheets – and secure eight win

The Tottenham man is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Spurs when his loan at Leeds comes to an end. His future at Spurs seemed as good as over, in the summer. But, that could change.

Phil Hay told The Athletic that there is no recall clause in his loan according to a ‘source with knowledge’. But, Gold disputes that, saying Spurs could look at recalling Rodon and have a look at a possible recall.

“Joe Rodon, Leeds had a bit of an iffy result – they drew 1-1 with Rotherham. Rodon has been smashing it at Leeds. Leeds fans want him to stay. Leeds would be mad if they don’t try and make that happen.

“I wouldn’t be surprised even if Spurs looked at the possibility of bringing him back in January, with the issues that Spurs have got and if there is any kind of recall clause

It would be an enormous blow for Leeds, and hopefully, Hay’s source has his information correct. We cannot do without Rodon at this point. The Wales star is one of the first names on the team sheet.
