Context
The Cavaliers selected Windler, a 27-year-old wing from Belmont College, with the 26th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He averaged 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds on a.438/.338/.778 split in 31 games for Cleveland. During the following few seasons, he played a smaller role with the Cavaliers and more with their G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge. Windler settled into his role with the Charge right away, scoring 15.3 points a night on 39% shooting from beyond the arc in 2021–2022. In 11 games the previous year, he averaged 12.2 points and 5.9 rebounds, setting a career-high three-point percentage.
