Sevilla has finally made an attractive offer for Wilfred Ndidi, who is being reported to be a Tottenham target.
Ndidi has formed an impressive partnership alongside former Spurs midfielder Harry Winks in the middle of the park for Leicester, who are currently sitting a the top of the Championship table.
However, there is a big question mark over the Nigerian’s future, with his current deal at the King Power Stadium running out next summer.
It was reported by TEAMtalk on November 6 that Tottenham were one of several Premier League clubs eying a move for the midfielder in January as he stalls on penning a new contract with the Foxes.
Nigerian outlet Punch Sports Extra subsequently claimed last week that the Lilywhites look set to battle it out with Barcelona for the Leicester star’s signature.
Foot Mercato have now named Lyon and Sevilla as contenders for Ndidi’s signature but they say that the player had made it clear back in the summer has he has no interest in joining the Ligue 1 side.
It is alleged that the Super Eagles star ‘should leave’ the Foxes when the transfer window opens and that Sevilla has ‘already made a first offer’ for the midfielder.
The publication adds that Ndidi is now thinking about his next move, with his entourage favouring a return to the Premier League at the moment.
While Ndidi’s stock has fallen considerably over the last couple of years, he is still a decent player and would be more than an adequate replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.Â
If the 26-year-old does prefer to remain in the Premier League, that would give Spurs a huge advantage over other suitors, while the presence of Maddison at the club could also work in the Lilywhites’ favour
