With new players and coaches, the Kaizer Chiefs are expected to undergo significant changes on and off the pitch.
The Chiefs are anticipated to make a number of player releases and an announcement about a new coach soon.
It has been mentioned that players like Sifiso Hlanti and Siyethemba Sithebe have deals expiring soon. Zitha Kwinika and Happy Mashiane have recently joined them. Njabulo Ngcobo is one player at Chiefs who has been fending off those whispers about leaving. Aside from those individuals, the contracts of Edmilson Dove, George Matlou, and Keagan Dolly will expire.
Sithebe, a dreadlocked midfielder who was rarely used under Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson, was the one player at Chiefs who was assumed to be heading out. True, he has missed much of the season due to injury, but both before and after his knock, he was not included in the squads for the games. Then, he was unexpectedly chosen to start the 0-0 draw with Cape Town City. The loss to Stellenbosch was then also initiated by him.
UNITED CHIPPA WANT SITHEBE
The newspaper revealed last month that the Chiefs were thinking about extending Sithebe’s contract. At the beginning of the year, many Amakhosi persuaders would not have believed this. The team was reportedly negotiating a new two-year contract for the player at that point. However, this publication claimed on Wednesday that the player is still in danger of quitting the team.
Should Sithebe depart from Chiefs, two KZN clubs are reportedly interested in signing him. Those are AmaZulu, his former team, and Golden Arrows. However, it isn’t the case. Sihlangu Sithebe, the player’s brother and agent, claims that Chippa United has expressed interest in the player.
However, this does not imply that the Chiefs are giving up on Sithebe—they have extended an offer to him!
CHIEFS MAKE NEW DEAL OFFER: “We spoke with the Chiefs management two weeks ago, and they assured us that Siyethemba will receive a new deal. It was discovered that Junior (Motaung) is abroad when we were meant to meet again this week. We will now get together early next week to complete everything.
