NEWS UPDATE: The New York Mets have signed former Gold Glove center fielder Harrison Bader to a one-year, $10.5 million to $15.8 million, two-year contract.

Harrison Bader, a former Gold Glove center fielder, was eventually signed by the Mets to a $10.5 million, one-year deal.

According to Statcast, Bader finished the previous season nine outs above average, putting him in the MLB’s 95th percentile for the category.

As a center fielder, Nimmo finished with zero outs above average.

He finished in the 69th percentile overall and was one out above average as a left fielder.

Now that Bader isn’t in the starting lineup, Nimmo will mostly play left but switch to center on other days.

Before switching to center field in 2019, Nimmo spent his first three seasons with the Mets playing outfield and corner positions.

Nimmo stated, “It’s something where my athleticism helps me to be versatile and adjustable in that way.” “I will be able to prepare in the right way as long as we maintain good communication and they kind of let me know in advance.”

Due to injuries, Bader, 29, has had difficulty staying on the field throughout his career.

He played in just 98 games for the Yankees and Reds in the previous season before having surgery to repair a sports hernia.
