NEWS UPDATED: The owner of the Cowboys officially confirmed that ‘Explosive’ 17 will be replacing the expensive starter.-TD Wide Receiver

Following a disappointing playoff exit, the Dallas Cowboys are assessing their options, which may involve making a wide receiver change. CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks were Dallas’ two main starters during the ride, but only Lamb appears to be guaranteed for the 2024 campaign.

Although Cooks’ first season in Dallas wasn’t a bust, his value is questionable given his limited contributions. In light of this, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report speculates that Dallas might move on this spring.

Although Cooks isn’t expected to be a free agent, Knox stated that Jones must determine whether the 30-year-old receiver should be one. The possible issue with Cooks’ retention is his $10 million cap hit. A move like that might prompt Dallas to select Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka or Oregon’s Troy Franklin as receivers in the draft. Retaining Cooks would help create a challenging cap scenario while also lessening the need for receiver.

Both of the NFL draft prospects are interesting, but Egbuka has everything it takes to be a standout player. Reliable hands are matched by his physical frame, which is 6’1″ and 205 pounds. However, DraftScout reports that he has a 4.32 40-yard dash, indicating that he can offer Cooks a fresh level of explosiveness.
