Nick Castellanos puts another umpire in his place after pitch clock violation, avoids ejection in 7th inning

Nick Castellanos has been on a little bit of a hot streak at the plate, and it continued with two hits against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night. While he’s been hot in the batter’s box, he was also hot when an umpire didn’t let him know he was a danger of a pitch clock violation.

Nick Castellanos let the ump know he needs to show him some respect and “fucking speak up, brother” after being called for the violation

Nick Castellanos – a man amongst men. Giving an ump the business is always great to see, and he managed to avoid ejection through it all.

As far as I’m concerned, he’s 100% in the right. It may not be the letter of the law, but this dude has been in the league for a decade, and the pitch clock was only implemented last season.

He’s a veteran of the game and hasn’t had to deal with pitch clock nonsense for pretty much his entire baseball life. So, a little heads-up for a guy who’s stuck around in the league for so long would be a nice courtesy, to say the least.
