Nottingham Forest handed ‘excellent’ player transfer boost as Leeds United detail emerges

Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news from NottinghamshireLive as Reds remain interested in the Leeds midfielder

Nottingham Forest could have been handed a boost to their hopes of signing Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams this summer.

The 24-year-old is still being linked with a move away from Elland Road following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship. He has interest from Aston Villa, Newcastle, West Ham and Everton.

The Hammers have previously tried to move ahead of competition by approaching Leeds. However, an offer is yet to be tabled.

Adams was a key player for the Whites last season, making 24 appearances. He missed the final two months of the campaign due to a hamstring injury as the club unsuccessfully fought against the drop.

However, that could be good news for Forest. The Athletic claims the midfielder has a relegation release clause as part of his contract with Leeds which is set at £20m, the fee the Whites paid for the player last year.

One stumbling block to any potential move is Adams’ injury. He had surgery on a hamstring and is still recovering, meaning he will remain out of action until at least the September international break. Then he will need time to build up his match fitness.

Make no mistake – Nottingham Forest’s return to the Premier League was a roaring success.

Staying in the division was the aspiration and the primary goal, and it was mission successful.
