Coach Patty Gasso and the fourth-ranked OU softball team will look to sweep their critical SEC series against second-ranked Texas when the teams square off Sunday at Love’s Field.
The Sooners (41-5, 15-5 SEC) won the series opener, 7-6, Friday night behind Ailana Agbayani’s five-RBI performance and then beat the Longhorns 7-2 on Saturday behind a complete-game performance from Kierston Deal.
OU came into the series tied with the Longhorns for second in the SEC, but have taken a game-and-a-half lead with their wins and Arkansas’ two victories over Texas A&M to start their series.
The Sooners and Longhorns (42-8, 13-7) have met in two of the last three Women’s College World Series Championship Series, both won by OU.

Sam Landry came up clutch, retiring the heart of the Longhorns’ order in the top of the seventh to seal the win and the series sweep.
OU scored at least seven runs in each of the three games. After dropping two of three games to Alabama, OU has recorded back-to-back sweeps of Mississippi State and Texas.
OU will close out the regular season with a three-game series at Florida that starts Thursday.

Nelly McEnroe-Marinas started the inning with a leadoff walk. Cydney Sanders bunted to move McEnroe-Marinas to second base, but the ball had eyes. It rolled sharply between the pitcher and first baseman, and Sanders reached easily.
