Philadelphia Phillies Are Pushing to Trade for a Catcher to Replace Realmuto

The Philadelphia Phillies have not slowed down at all during the course of the season. As a matter of fact, they appear to improve over time. That has them pencilled in as a favourite for the World Series by both fans and media.

Even though things are going well so far, there is still a tonne of baseball to be played this season. After hot starts, things happen and teams disintegrate.

Regretfully, the Phillies’ roster will suffer as a result of anything that occurred. J.T. Realmuto has chosen to get surgery, meaning he won’t be available for at least the next month.

Realmuto has played a major role in Philadelphia’s success this year. In addition to being a great offensive player, he has worked very hard behind the plate. They’ll now have to figure out how to replace his output.
Zach Presnell of FanSided has proposed a possible replacement for Realmuto in the Phillies lineup. He has put forth the idea of trading for Toronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen.

According to his trade proposal, right-hander Griff McGarry and catcher Caleb Ricketts would be sent to Philadelphia in exchange for Jansen. Although it wouldn’t come at an absurdly high cost, should the Phillies really make this move given that Realmuto is expected back in a month?

With the Blue Jays this season, Jansen has shown strong all-around results thus far. In addition to five home runs and sixteen RBIs, he has a.264 average. After just 38 games, those results have been achieved.

Jansen might be a good depth player even after Realmuto is back. When Realmuto needs to take a nap, he would provide Philadelphia with a viable option. If necessary, he might occasionally be inserted into the starting lineup next to Realmuto.

The definition of a rental would be Jansen. It is quite improbable that the Phillies would re-sign him because his contract expires at the end of the current campaign. All they would do is add him as a depth piece and weather buffer against Realmuto’s injury while they attempt to make a deep postseason run.
