The Los Angeles Lakers’ 2023–24 campaign has been wildly inconsistent, with a 26–25 record that is the height of mediocrity. The Lakers have demonstrated that they can defeat anyone on any given night in addition to their ability to defeat anyone on any given night.
The Lakers would currently compete in the play-in round, which is fine for a team that does not have two dominant superstar players, much less one of the all-time greats. However, not for a team that has a custom of hoisting championship banners in their arena of choice.
This explains why LeBron James, who is prone to doing this during trade season, has been posting cryptic messages on social media. The Lakers will be depending on the trade deadline to bolster their roster in an effort to turn things around.

If you’re anything like me, when you learned that the Lakers were interested in Spencer Dinwiddie, you might have been a little confused. In other words, Dinwiddie’s prime is over.
Although he averages 12.7 points per game, his 48.3 percent effective field goal splits don’t exactly reflect his efficiency. Dinwiddie’s long-range percentage of 32.5 percent is below the league average.
On defense, he doesn’t really contribute anything either. Put differently, D’Angelo Russell is a far superior choice.
