Real Deal: Chelsea set swap deal with forest player Brennan Johnson over ther goal-machine with £50.8m bid

Chelsea are the latest club to join the race for Nottingham Forest starlet Brennan Johnson.

Chelsea have reportedly held initial talks over a potential swap deal for Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson. The 22-year-old Welshman has been added to Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking shortlist with Todd Boehly’s excessive spending now set to smash the £1billion mark before the end of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea are now focusing their efforts on adding some more quality to their forward line after bolstering their midfield options with the arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

The Blues did also trigger the £35million release clause of Michael Olise earlier in the week but the move now looks to have collapsed after the winger signed a new long-term contract with the Eagles

Crystal Palace were considering reporting the Blues for tapping up Olise and as a result, the Blues were urged to step away from the deal.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea are now looking at a deal for Forest danger-man Johnson as he can provide some efficiency both centrally and in the wide areas.

Chelsea are thought to have held initial talks over a swap deal which could see a player or several players head the other way as part of the package.

The Welshman bagged eight times in the Premier League last season for Steve Cooper and also featured in all 38 of Forest’s top-flight matches.

Tottenham and West Ham are also showing interest in Johnson, who is quickly emerging as one of the most highly-coveted players in the Premier League.

Brentford have also seen multiple bids rejected by Forest this summer – the latest of which was worth a club-record £35m.
