On Tuesday afternoon, the Memphis Grizzlies revealed that they had signed former Los Angeles Lakers guard Scotty Pippen Jr. to a two-way contract. The group included the following in their announcement:
“Today, the Memphis Grizzlies announced that guard Scotty Pippen Jr. has signed a two-way contract with the team. The deal’s terms were not revealed in accordance with team policy. Throughout the 2023–24 NBA G League Showcase and regular season, Pippen Jr. (6-1, 170) has played in 17 games (15 starts) for the South Bay Lakers, averaging 20.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 2.2 steals in 30.3 minutes. While playing for South Bay the previous season, the 23-year-old was chosen to take part in the 2023 Jordan Rising Stars Game during NBA All-Star Weekend. The Portland, Oregon native, who went unselected in the 2022 NBA Draft, averaged 2.3 points in 5.3 minutes during his six appearances with the Los Angeles Lakers last season.
