Harry Souttar just finalized his £15, million January transfer from Stoke City to Leicester.
Prior to his terrible and cruel knee injury that kept him out of action for almost the entire year of 2021, Premier League clubs had their eye on the towering center-back. However, after he played for Australia in the FIFA World Cup towards the end of the previous year, clubs renewed their interest in hiring him.
And it was the Foxes who completed a deal near the January transfer deadline; however, despite Souttar’s 12 Premier League appearances for City the previous season, he has hardly made an appearance under new head coach Enzo Maresca.
It’s safe to say that Harry Souttar’s £15,500,000 transfer from Stoke City to Leicester during the January 2023 transfer window did not go as expected.
Even though Leicester is currently leading the Championship, it doesn’t seem like Souttar will have much of a future under Maresca given that he was signed less than a year ago for an eight-figure fee.
