Nottingham Forest needs to make another attempt to sign Marcos Leonardo in January, as he has been linked to them.
When Forest was looking to add strikers during the summer transfer window, they had the Santos player on their radar.
The Brazilian wonderkid was scheduled to move to the City Ground in the summer. But Leonardo decided to remain with Santos.
At the time, Tim Vickery didn’t believe Leonardo was a good fit for Forest. The player appears to be destined for the Premier League right now.
A younger striker was what Forest wanted to come in and challenge for a spot in the team. At that point, the only strikers in the City Ground squad were Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood.
Before the window closed, the Reds did indeed manage to sign a striker. They had hoped for a younger option, but Divock Origi signed a loan, so it was not that.
