After missing the majority of the season due to an ankle injury, Peyton Hendershot has been activated by the Cowboys to the active roster from injured reserve.
The tight end should be available for Sunday night’s game against the visiting Eagles for the Cowboys. Tight end Sean McKeon has been placed on injured reserve as a result. Additionally, Dallas opened the 21-day practice window for 6-8 offensive tackle Matt Waletzko, who may be used as a depth piece in the upcoming weeks. Throughout the majority of his tenure with the Cowboys, Waletzko—a 2022 fifth-round selection—has struggled with a shoulder injury.
On November 29, the Buckeyes (11-1, 8-1) of the Big Ten lost to top-ranked Michigan, denying them a postseason berth. Ohio State will be participating in its third Cotton Bowl Classic; the team won the competition in 1987 and 2017. Missouri Tigers (10-2, 6-2) of the SEC, on the other hand, just finished their first 10-win campaign since 2014. This comes one season after they defeated Oklahoma State in their final three Cotton Bowl appearances.
The Cotton Bowl Classic, which takes place at AT&T Stadium for the 14th time this year, will mark its 88th staging. Tulane, the Group of Five champion, defeated the University of Southern California with a stunning upset of 45 to 45 in the previous season’s game.
In other North Texas bowl events, Southern Methodist, a local team, will take on Boston College in the Fenway Bowl on December 28 at Fenway Park, home of MLB’s Boston Red Sox. This comes after Southern Methodist won the American Athletic Conference championship game the previous weekend. On December 26, Rice and Texas State will play in an all-Texas First Responder Bowl at SMU’s Gerald J. Ford Stadium.
