Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Dermot Gallagher delivers his verdict on why the Reds shoudl have been awarded a penalty against Everton on Saturday
Dermot Gallagher, a referee expert, feels that Nottingham Forest should have been given a penalty against Everton for three reasons.
On Saturday, Dwight McNeil’s goal in the second half proved too much for the Reds. As a result, Steve Cooper’s team has only triumphed in one of their previous ten games.
But the result could have potentially been different against the Toffees after Forest captain Ryan Yates was pulled down in the box by Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure. However, referee Paul Tierney chose not to award a penalty.
And former Premier League referee has told Sky Sports why the incident should have resulted in a spot kick for the Reds. He also believes there were three opportunities for Tierney to point to the spot during the incident, which will only add to the home side’s frustration.
