The highly sought-after Stamford Bridge gem attracted a lot of interest during the summer transfer window, but Chelsea let Santos join Forest because they believed first-team football would be on the agenda.
However, things haven’t really worked out that way. After signing Ibrahim Sangare on the day of the transfer deadline and Nicolas Dominguez’s arrival, Santos has fallen down Cooper’s priority list.
On Saturday, the midfielder played in his first Premier League match against Liverpool. Even so, he only made a brief appearance—his cameo lasted less than ten minutes.
Santos is a football player with extraordinary talent who shone for Chelsea on their preseason tour of the United States. For the player, it will be even more disappointing because Forest repelled competition from other clubs.
Premier League Brasil reports that the player is not content. They go on to say that the 19-year-old is extremely disturbed by Cooper’s apparent unwillingness to choose him.
Santos is seen as Forest’s backup since they are believed to have other objectives in midfield. It is believed that he won’t be a City Ground player for the foreseeable future, which explains why he isn’t playing frequently.
The Premier League season is lengthy, and teams in the bottom half may find it difficult. Santos ought to be upbeat about his prospects at Forest as a consequence.
Sangare is already one warning away from suspension. Santos doesn’t appear to be all that far down the Forest hierarchy, but Ryan Yates is most likely the next man up right now.
Santos’s task will be to seize any Forest opportunities that present themselves. He will be itching to play when he is 19, but for now, all he needs to do is maintain his composure and be prepared for action when Cooper does give him the go-ahead.
